As more underrepresented minority and first-generation students enter STEM degrees, institutions are tasked with providing these students with the personal support they need  – and deserve – to be successful. 

CSU Northridge College of Engineering and Computer Science and its former dean, Dr. S. K. Ramesh, now the Director and Lead Principal Investigator of the AIMS2 program (Attract, Inspire, Mentor and Support Students) decided to address this task by launching a peer mentorship programPeer mentorship is a key part of the AIMS2 strategy to foster a sense of belonging and inclusion for all URM STEM students that will propel them to graduation.
