Advancing DEI Commitments with High-Impact Student Success Interventions

A Virtual Roundtable Reconvening Leadership to Enact Meaningful Change

September 29th, 2021 | Noon - 2:30 p.m. EST

WHERE ARE WE TODAY?

Join us on September 29th to learn from the DEI experts enacting change on their campuses with meaningful student success interventions. Around this time last year, racial tensions, a 12-year high in reported hate crimes, and economic unrest prompted institutions of higher learning to double down on their commitments to honoring, protecting, and supporting the unique identities of their entire student population. Since 2020, Mentor Collective has convened more than 3,500 senior and executive leaders across all facets of continuing education - from enrollment and academic affairs to alumni relations and graduate studies.

We’ve hosted key figures in the HBCU (Historically Black Colleges and Universities), HSI (Hispanic Serving Institutions), Two-year and technical institutions, and the research community to dive into metrics and interventions proven to bolster student success. In that time, one concern came to the forefront; generating sense of belonging on campus. Sense of belonging and inclusivity are crucial for university sustainability.

Co-hosted by Dr. Donald Outing, VP for Equity and Community and University and Inclusion Officer at Lehigh University, we’ll examine the strides, missteps, and opportunities of university DEI promises and posit the ways in which we can move forward as a collective dedicated to enriching the academic experiences of students at the margins.
